Some Questions About Yuan Yan(The Expansion of Chinese Traditional Gardening Theory) Written by Academician Meng Zhaozhen

阅读了孟兆祯院士著的《园衍》之后,对其中的部分内容提出了一些疑问。主要是有关风景园林学科的性质、内涵、核心和研究范围以及对《园冶》(明代计成著)中有关借景的解释以及其他个别引证的问题。期望通过学术讨论,使问题得到澄清。

After the study of the book Yuan Yan（The Expansion of Chinese Traditional Gardening Theory） written by academician Meng Zhaozhen, there are some questions on parts of the contents. The questions are mainly about the character and connotation of the discipline of landscape architecture, as well as the core and range of the study of landscape architecture. Doubt points also exist on the description of the word ＂jie jing＂（borrowed scenery）, which originated from the Ming Dynasty in the book Yuan Ye（The Craft of Gardens） written by Ji Cheng. There are also some problems on the quotations. Further academic discussions can help clarify these matters.
