Empty Reference and Notional Reference of Article and Strategies of Selecting Articles

语法规则的抽象性、冠词使用的复杂性、语境变化的多样性使得冠词的习得尤为困难,从虚指与实指的角度归类冠词的指类,以Huebner的语义轮理论为基础,结合Halliday和Hasan为the的四种指称分类来分析名词的语义特征以探讨冠词的选择和运用,以期为冠词的教学策略提供新的方法和思路。

It is so difficult for English learners to a cquire English articles due to the abstractness of grammar rules,complexity of article uses,and variety of context. This paper divides the deixis of articles into empty reference and notional reference to clarify the uses of articles. On the basis of Huebner’s Semantic Wheel,this paper analyzes the semantic feature of nouns,selection and uses of English articles with the perspective of Halliday and Hasan’s four deixis classification to provide a new method in teaching and learning English articles.
