Intercultural Comparisons of Subject-Ellipsis between Chinese and English Languages

省略作为避免重复、突出关键信息并使上下文紧密连接的语法手段,在英汉语篇中的功能有其相似之处。英汉语在文化方面存在差异,对主语省略的运用和理解可能有所不同,因此从跨文化的角度对其进行对比研究也彰显出重要意义。

The difference between subject-ellipsis in English and Chinese not only derive from the differences in the two vastly distinct languages,but mainly from the culture that supports and constructs these languages.Thus,an intercultural perspective is adopted in this paper with a view to further understanding subject-ellipsis in a deeper sense.
