Based on the scheme design of Su-ai Sea-crossing Channel in Shantou,in the article the most popular three types of shield launching methods are firstly introduced.Then combined with the specific characteristics of the Su-ai Sea-crossing Channel,five aspects contents are comprehensively compared which are plan and profile design,structural design,construction cost,construction period,and construction requirements.Thus the most suitable shield launching scheme for the project is proposed.The conclusions could be referred for similar project design.
