Civilization and Order as the Original Power of Harmony:On the Ecological Ethics in the Novel of Lord of the Flies about the Deserted Island

基于生态伦理学理论,研究探讨了荒岛小说《蝇王》中所彰显的戈尔丁对生态伦理的强烈关切。《蝇王》揭露了在特殊环境中以及在非理性意志的驱动下,人类的兽性因子将战胜人性因子,自由意志将被彻底释放,产生真正的邪恶,随心所欲地蹂躏和掠夺大自然,从而引起生态失衡,并最终导致病态的社会生态和畸形的精神生态。因此,人类只有尊重自然、融入自然、回归自然,才能重建文明与秩序,重构与自然生态的和谐稳定关系。

Based on the theory of ecological ethics, the paper suggests that Lord of the Flies demonstrates Golding＇s strong concern for ecological ethics. Lord of the Flies reveals that under specific circumstance and driven by non-rational will, the animal factor outweighs the human factor so that the free will is completely released and causes the real evil. Ecological imbalance emerges as a result of the impetuous pillage of the nature, which eventually leads to the morbid social ecology and the deformity of the spiritual ecolo- gy. Consequently, only when human beings respect nature, blend into nature and return to nature, it＇s possible to rebuild civilization and order, and reconstruct harmonious and stable relations with the natural ecology.
