学术新媒体:缘何难以脱颖而出——兼及学术传播领域媒体融合发展

当新媒体在大众传播领域高歌猛进、传统媒体节节败退之时,传统学术期刊作为主流学术媒体的中心地位却依然稳固。其原因在于学术信息源与受众的单一性使学术期刊得以垄断信息源,学术期刊体制的特殊性使学术新媒体无法获得合法的学术传媒身份,学术评价机制的不合理使学术新媒体不能成为评价对象,故独立的学术新媒体始终没能产生,但纸本时代的"刊"与互联网时代的"网"之间还是形成了很大的张力。国家层面的媒体融合战略的实施为创新期刊体制提供了契机,从而为"合法"的学术新媒体的诞生提供了机遇,学术期刊将面临真正的挑战,唯有主动开发学术新媒体,让新媒体成长与媒体融合同步进行,方能求得在互联网时代的新生。

While the new media is booming and the old media shrinking, academic periodicals are still dominating the academia. The reason firstly lies in that the academic sources and the audience are exclusively the intellectuals, which enables academic periodicals to monopolize the publication. Such a unique institution deprives the new media of a legitimized academic identity. The handicapped academic evaluation hinders academic new media from being an object and thus an independent media. However, the tense between traditional periodicals and the internet always exists. Currently, the national media integration strategy provides an opportunity for innovating a new institution of academic period- icals and hence the legitimization of academic new media. Since the challenge to traditional periodicals is imminent, the only way out is to welcome the academic new media, coordinating the development of new media and the media integration.
