一代琴僧竹禅考

On Guqing Monk'Zhuchan

竹禅是清末著名佛学大师、古琴大师、书画大师。对其系统的文字资料记载比较少,且在现存有关竹禅的记载资料中,对同一内容往往记载也不一致。本文根据一些著名寺庙的寺志、地方志、名人辞典等相关资料及田野考察,对竹禅的生卒年代、家境、教育情况及书画、古琴造诣等内容进行考证,纠正一些资料中的误传,还原一个本真的竹禅。

Zhuchan is a famous great master of the Buddhism,Guqin and painting and calligraphy in the late Qing dynasty. However,there are only few credible written texts about him,and the existing texts are often in conflict with each other. Based on annals of some famous temples,chorographies,celebrity biographies and country visits,we research on Zhuchan＇s living era,family circumstances,education,painting and calligraphy,guqin attainments,etc. In this paper we also aim to correct some misrepresentations in some historical data,and to restore a real Zhuchan for the public.
