《新诗集》和《分类白话诗选》是20世纪前期最早出现的新诗选集之一,集中体现了中国早期新诗翻译与创作的概况和成就。"五四"前后的中国诗坛,诗歌翻译和诗歌创作并行存在,二者彼此影响,相互促进,使早期诗歌活动收到著译相长之效。

As one of the earliest new poem collections in the early 20 th century,A Collection of New Poems and Selected Readings in Classified Vernacular Poems have both epitomized the survey and accomplishment in the translation and creation of early new poems in China. The Chinese poetic circles before and after the ＂May 4th Movement＂witnessed the coexistence of poem translation and poetic creation which influenced and promoted each other,thus leading to the mutual benefit between writing and translation of early new poems.
