With respect to funds and projects funding,prize has its own unique advantage and is used more and more by governments to stimulate innovation in the US and EU in recent years. The benefits of prize,the range of prize application and the practice with which foreign countries＇ government use prize funding tools to stimulate innovation and its new trends are analyzed. At last,some enlightenments to China are presented.
