张掖大佛寺西游取经图壁画内容考辨

An Investigation of the Journey-to-the-West Mural in Da-fo-si Temple in Zhangye City

张掖大佛寺卧佛殿现存一幅西游取经图壁画,此画分左右两部分以连环画形式共描绘十处故事情节,与《西游记》小说部分章节故事相呼应。但学界对此壁画具体描绘内容的辨析与确定各持己见,并无统一定论。本文通过与《西游记》小说故事的比对全面分析壁画的图像内容,对此悬案客观定论。

There exists a Journey - to - the - West mural in Da - fo - si Temple in Zhangye City which depicts ten storiescorresponding to the plot in the fiction Journey to the West as a graphic book with two parts on the left and the right.There has been no definitive conclusion concerning its subjects. This paper offers an objective view concerning the sub-jects of the mural by comparing it with the plot in the fiction Journey to the West.
