A Comparative Study of " The West Chamber" and " Peach Blossom Fan" hero character——Try to analyze the character of drama from the social background

《西厢记》与《桃花扇》两剧讲述的都是才子佳人相慕爱恋的动人故事,由于产生的社会时代背景不同,两剧在人物性格塑造方面,显示出同中有异,异中有同的特点。两剧的男女主人公都是男才女貌的才子佳人,可是他们思想性格的核心却不同:同是佳人崔莺莺最大的特点在于"反抗礼教",而李香君在于"反抗邪恶";同是才子张君瑞的性格核心是对于爱情的执著和志诚,而侯方域的精神实质是对于国家的责任和忠实。

＂ The West Chamber＂ and ＂Peach Blossom Fan＂ tells people two moving love stories. Because of different social background, the character personalities of the two plays show the same in different and the different in the same. The heroes and the heroines are handsome scholars and pretty girls, but the core of their personalities are different. The most important character of beauty Cui Yingying is to resist the feudal ethics; however, Li Xiangjun is against the evil. Meanwhile, the point of Zhang Junrui has the spirit of genius and loyalty to love, however, Hou Fangyu has the responsi- bility and faith to his own nation.
