The Study of national situation is the foundation and source of national policy research, and the national policy research is the application and test of national situation. National situation can be formulated af- ter an accurate understanding of the national situation. In the historical process of 60 years since new China was founded, in order to understand national situation profoundly, including the law of socialist society, mod- ernization of China, the road of industrialization of china, the basic socialist economic system, the market econ- omy of socialism, leaders of china have made unremitting exploration, aiming at an accurate understanding and grasp of the objective laws of socialist modernization. This process of understanding, is the process of over- coming the "blindness" , the process of enhancing "consciousness" continuously, and the process of stepping from "realm of necessity" to the "realm of freedom". This process gives us a lesson in that : From the "realm of necessity" to the "realm of freedom", the leap in understanding cannot be achieved overnight, and it will go repeatedly, after from positive to negative, and then positive in the process ; collective understanding is bet- ter than that of individual, and collective wisdom is better than that of individual; " going out" to know the Western world contributes to realizing the gap ; adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts, and practice is the sole criterion for testing truth. ; understanding, as a course of ongoing cycle, have no end.
