汉-英中介语语法中强、弱岛屿结构的习得程度研究

The Acquisitional Extent of Strong vs.Weak Islands in Chinese-English Interlanguage Grammar

岛屿限制条件在中介语语法中是否具有心理现实性被视为诊断中介语是否隶属自然语言的核心语法现象之一。基于现有研究对两类复杂NP岛屿和两类WH岛屿呈现出不同中介语表现的陈述,本研究区分强、弱岛屿结构并对以不同方式接受输入的二语学习者实施了系统性实证调查。基于多元方差分析的前后测对比结果表明,关系从句复杂NP岛屿结构、同位语从句复杂NP岛屿结构以及WH可阻断型岛屿结构可能因自变量水平不同而呈现异质性。研究试图说明,与母语语法被视为一种客观实体不同,中介语语法可能是一种更容易被语言本体外因素所影响的心理客体。

Whether islands constraints are rooted with psychological reality is deemed to be a diagnostic to verify the natural linguistic traits of Interlanguage grammar.On the basis of the descriptive distinction of the representations of two types of complex NP islands and two types of WH islands,the present study distinguishes strong and weak islands and conducts a systematic empirical study among the learners who receive differential L2 input.The results from MANOVA analysis show that the heterogeneity of Relative Clause Complex NP island,Complement NP island and WH strong island vanes along the levels of the fixed factor.The study attempts to reveal that interlanguage grammar,unlike the mother-tongue grammar as an objective entity,is more likely to be a psychological object ammenable to extraneous factors.
