UK government was the first country to implement Timber Procurement Policy. The policy required that category of evidence, category of B evidence and evidence of FLEGT-licensed origin or equivalent could be used for suppliers to prove the timber and wood-derived products supplied comply with the requirements of legality and sustainability. So the evaluation of evidence was the only way to decide whether the suppliers met the policy requirements.
