摘要
中国文化在世界的影响不断扩大,中国特色词汇反映了中国独特的文化,具有很高的社会文化价值和语言学价值。在美国媒体中,美国最有权威的报纸之一《纽约时报》对中国的报道是最丰富的,其涉华报道中中国特色词汇的翻译策略有别于我国外宣中国特色词汇的翻译方法,基于定量和定性分析可以发现其对中国特色词汇翻译策略的总体倾向,也可以透视其对中国文化的态度。
With the development of China,the influence of Chinese culture is expanding around the world. Unique Chinese terms which reflect unique Chinese culture are of great value in social culture and linguistics. As one of the most authoritative newspapers in the U. S.,"New York Times"has the most abundant reports about China among all the American media.The translation strategies of unique Chinese terms are quite different from those in China's foreign propaganda translation,and therefore it is worth further study and analysis,through qualitative and quantitative analysis of which,the general tendencies of translation strategies concerning unique Chinese terms could be found and the newspapers' attitudes towards Chinese culture could be perceived.
