Kuwait established a political relationship with China in 1971, the first country in the Gulf region to do so. The Kuwait-China xelationship saw substantial progress when Kuwait＇s foreign policy started to give more importance to the East after the liberation of Kuwait in 1991, and it gained impetus with the onset of the global economic crisis in 2008.
