文化创伤与侨批记忆

Cultural Trauma and the Memory of Overseas Remittance

西方学术界主要把文化创伤理论运用于对第二次世界大战历史的反思,中国学术界也开始把这一理论应用于反右运动和文革的反思,但将文化创伤理论与侨批记忆进行互相阐释还是一种新的尝试。文化记忆是保存经验与知识的储存器,而侨批档案正是一种具有意味的民间"文化形式",也是保存侨民生存经验和情感体验的"储存器"。侨批所记载的并非仅仅是侨民个人的记忆,而是整个中国移民群体的创伤记忆。因此,直面侨民历史,反思文化创伤,是我们当前华侨研究和文化研究义不容辞的重要任务。

In western academic circles, the theory of cultural trauma is mainly applied to the reflection on the history of the Second World War,while the Chinese academic community also applies it to the reflec?tion on the anti-rightist movement and the Cultural Revolution,but few people got it related with the studies of Overseas Remittance. It is a new attempt to explain the cultural trauma theory and memory of the overseas re?mittance.Cultural memory is a reservoir storing the experience and knowledge,while overseas remittance file is a kind of reservoir, a folk cultural form saving overseas’living experience and emotional experience.Over?seas remittance describes not just their personal memory,but all Chinese immigrants’traumatic memories. Hence, it is an important task for our current overseas Chinese studies to face the history and reflect cultural trauma.
