清末潮、汕两地同创岭东同文学堂补证

A Study of the Establishment of Ling Dong Tong Wen College Both in Shantou and Chaozhou in Late Qing Dynasty

1899年,丘逢甲及同仁拟在汕头或潮州创办一所新式的岭东同(东)文学堂,最后确定在潮州。而同时,以林梁任为首的潮汕乡绅在惠潮嘉分巡道沈守廉的支持下,也在汕头埠创办了一所岭东同文学堂。清末《岭东日报》及其当时学堂总教习温仲和遗留的信札,可与前人研究成果互为印证,并补充历史的部分缺环。

In 1899, Qiu Fengjia and his colleagues planned to set up a new style of college called Ling?Dong Tong Wen in Shantou or Chaozhou. At last, it was founded in Chaozhou. Meanwhile, in Shantou, another LingDong Tong Wen College was founded by Lin Liangren and other local gentries with the help of Shen Shou?lian who was FenXunDao of HuiChaoJia. From the rediscovery of Lingdong Journal and letters written by the headmaster named Wen Zhonghe, the paper could reconfirm the results of previous studies and add to the his?torical reconstruction.
