摘要
芒罗的《激情》通过采用第三人称回忆录叙事形式和内外故事话语层转换等叙事策略,创造性地设置一个他者回忆录的元叙事模式,拓展小说的形式空间、地域空间、阶级跨越的表现空间和叙事可能性空间。就像《神秘博士》(Doctor Who)里的时空飞行器(Tardis)一样,芒罗的短篇小说比表面看上去的容量大得多,以极简主义的风格和形式创设出长篇小说的叙事空间。
Passion by Alice Munro experimentally designs a meta-narrative mode for autre-memoir by a- dopting the third-person limited form shifting not only between the extra-diegetic and the intra-diegetic nar- rator but also between old Grace and young Grace, with the purpose of extending the form space, cartog- raphical space, trans-class liminal space and possibility space. Munro is rather like Doctor Who, and her short stories are rather like the Tardis. the insides are more capacious than the outside, creating the space and depth of a novel through the poetic minimalism short story style and form.
