An Investigation on the Translation of Names of TCM Formulas Containing Metaphors

中医含隐喻的方剂名称深刻地体现了中华璀璨的传统文化。针对目前这类隐喻方剂翻译的乱象,文章归纳出目前存在五部中医方剂词典中的不一致问题;并从中医方剂命名的内涵出发,对五部词典中隐喻方剂名的英译进行分析判别,提出"意象+剂型"的翻译方式,旨在引起更多的关注于中医方剂的翻译问题。

Names of the TCM formulas containing metaphors profoundly reflects the splendid Chinese traditional culture. For the current chaos of formula translation, this paper sums up the existing translation inconsistencies in the five Chinese medicine formulas dictionaries and analyzes the differences based on its cultural meaning, and proposes a proper translation method ＂image＋ dosage form＂ in order to arouse more concerns on the translation of TCM formulas.
