In Jean Rhys' last novel Wide Sargasso Sea,Antoinette as a mixed blood woman is expelled from both of the black and the white communities, and becomes the other under the double shackles of both racism and patriarchy systems. Meanwhile,Rochester, the male protagonist, also exists as another "other " who is usually invisible or neglected by people. Thus the two protagonists become inescapable "other "images under the double constraints of racism and patriarchy systems. Such narration not only helps to subvert people's previous comprehension of Bertha, the mad woman positioned in the attic of Thornfield Manor as well as the male protagonist in Jane Eyre but also brings them closer to who they really are by analyzing their inescapable "other"images under the double constraints of racism and patriarchy systems from the perspective of post-colonialism. In this way the readability of this work is enhanced and people's comprehension on it is enriched.
