From the mining of knowledge to the formation of concept,the exploration on the derivative meaning of industrial design course is not only an extending from the near transfer of theoretical knowledge to the far transfer of cognitive perception,but also an idea innovation of student design creation,design intelligence and talents training of designing quality that an urgent attention should be paid in the current industrial design course. With the teaching direction of industrial design course in colleges and universities as the starting point,the paper elaborates around the derived meaning value and significance of the course,analyzes and researches the change foundation and innovative routes of the current industrial design course in colleges and universities.
