医师不应承担建议患方放弃治疗的义务之我见

My View on Doctor's not Bearing the Obligation of Suggesting the Patient Giving up Treatment

文章从临床实务、伦理道德、法律规范等层面进行分析探讨,认为由医师建议患方放弃治疗或许有助于节约社会医疗资源、降低患方医疗成本和减少患者痛苦;但这种做法极易引发医疗纠纷、升级医患矛盾,从而给医患双方乃至整个社会造成更大的损害,其弊大于利。

Analyzing from the perspectives of clinical practice, moral principles, and legal norms, the author argues that if doctors suggest their patients giving up treatment, it may be helpful to save social medical resources, lower health care costs, and lessen the suffering of the patients; whereas it is very likely to cause medical disputes, upgrade the doctor-patient contradiction, and cause greater damage to both doctors and patients,even the whole society. Therefore, its disadvantages overweigh the advantages.
