Research on Applicability of Using Happiness Index to Measure the Development Degree of Economy and Society

指数的优劣评价同时依赖于构造方法和主观目的。随着人们需求结构的变动和发展理念的转变,单靠GDP确实已不足以全面地衡量社会福祉。与之相适应,幸福指数相对于GDP能更全面地反映人们的现实需要和经济社会发展程度,但它同样不是无所不包的终极指标。在次级指标的选择、指标的度量、权重的分配和跨文化的比较等问题上,幸福指数的构建仍有待于进一步的完善和发展。

The evaluation of an index depends both on the construction method and subjective intent .With the change of people’s demand structure and the view of development ,relying on GDP alone does not ade‐quately measure the development degree of economy and society .Relative to GDP ,happiness index could more fully reflect people’s needs and economic and social development ,but it is not embracive ,unique and ultimate .On index selection ,index measurement ,weight distribution ,comparisons across culture and so on , happiness index need to be improved further .
