The realization of intelligent substation is the development trend of distribution network in the future and is also the important content of unified strong smart grid.To implement the intelligent access of small current grounding line selection of the distribution network is an important part of self-healing.A kind of intelligent substation based on IEC 61850-2 standard of small current grounding fault monitoring system structure is introduced,its working principle and field application case are analyzed.With the advantage of reasonable system structure,it can be applied in intelligent substations of 110 kV and below. The detection method is not influenced by arc suppression coil or by unstable arc.
