Horse Tail Embroidery（HTE） is the most characterized traditional handicraft of Shui nationality. One of the most exquisite techniques in making HTEs shows in making swaddling clothes for babies. People of Shui nationality expressed their wishes for a better life and expectations to offspring by sewing patterns like butterfl ies, fi shes in HTEs. Exploring HTE＇s unique artistic features and visual styles is of great signifi cance to the inheritance of Chinese intangible cultural heritages.
