Zhu Siben, who was a disciple of Xuan Religion in Yuan Dynasty, had three identities: a Taoist priest of Xuan Religion,a litterateur and a geographer. The combination of the three identities made his literary work presented many characteristics. Zhu Siben's offering sacrifice to mountains and rivers representing the emperor, associating with literati who hold posts in the government, presenting feelings and thoughts of Confucianism, and showing his desire to resign repeatedly could prove that he had blended Confucianism and Taoism together in his thought. Another significant feature of his works was the realization of literary geography, which could be shown from his annotations to the national map,his records of weather and climate, his visits to Taoist temples and places of interest, his referring to agricultural geography.
