摘要
传说撒拉族族始率其部众,带着骆驼,驮着《古兰经》跋山涉水,辗转至青海循化地区。因途中走失了一匹心爱的骆驼而四处寻找,最后在一个叫"街子"的地方发现了骆驼,可是它已化成了一尊白色的石头,安详地卧在一眼清泉旁。众人见周围土地肥沃便定居下来,该地便是今天的循化撒拉族自治县。有着这样的传说,撒拉族人对白色的石头特别崇拜,并传下了在房顶四角安放白石的习俗。
