In the western world,no matter whether it is the Chinese classical viewing stone or the ancient viewing stone, their English translation are both using Sch,which has the meaning of the color of the abstract expressionism, this kind of collection and appreciation of the'Literati Stone'is a transcendence of the art creation(including both discovery and processing)of the ancient man in our Chinese history. This is also an important and unique contribution that ancient Chinese scholars have done to the world’s art history. The Theory of'Literati Stone',in my opinion, there should be two concepts:narrow sense and broad sense. In a narrow sense, those what take thinness, leakage and wrinkle as the main modelling structure and the stones appreciating that with the purpose of abstract aesthetics, are the so-called classical stone appreciation,it can be collectively called'literati stone'.In a broad sense, those what conforms to the literati’s feelings and aesthetic appreciation can be all called'literati stone'.In a word,it seems that it can be summarized in this way:the implication and the classic elegance combine with each other, being not seek for the similarity with the form or appearance and too much perfect, but chasing for the poetic and pictorial splendor.
