孔子说德治

CONFUCIUS TALKED ABOUT GOVERNING BY VIRTUE

众所周知,孔子作为儒家学派的创始人,一向推重道德、崇尚德治。在他看来,合格的统治者本身就应当是道德的楷模,在治国理政的具体实践中,行德政、重教化应成为统治者的不二选择。 孔子曾经这样说过：＂道之以政,齐之以刑,民免而无耻;道之以德,齐之以礼,有耻且格。＂意思是说：用政令来引导,用刑罚来规范,老百姓只可能免于犯罪受惩而不会有羞耻之心;用道德来引导,用礼教来规范,老百姓不但有廉耻之心还会心悦诚服。

As the founder of the Confucian School,Confucius always had a high regard for morality and advocated virtue governing.In his opinion,a qualified governor should himself be a good example of morality.Confucius once said that if guiding people was only done with government orders and regulating people with punishment,common people could only be kept away from crimes but must have no sense of shame;by guiding people with morality and regulating people with ethical codes,common people will not only have a sense of shame but also will be completely convinced.Confucius greatly upheld governing by virtue,a concept which arose not only out of his giant imagination but because he truly perceived the power of morality and the miracle of governing by virtue from the records of historical documents.
