Zen culture contains a variety of elements concerning honest and clean government. It contains a profound Chinese Buddhist Zen philosophy, and meets the need of the objective reality. Its connotation includes ten aspects as follows： one＇s mind is calm at birth, the political philosophy of winning people by virtue, conducting oneself in society by nature, the value orientation of preventing evil and doing good, treating people with equality, pursuing maiteya, karuna, muditd and upekga, indifferent and optimistic behavior principle, careful and frugal life creed, self culture quality requirements, wisdom is the way of keeping good health. Its practical significances and contemporary values are reflected in that Zen culture can protect and inherit the excellent traditional culture with Chinese characteristics, can play a positive role in the practice of the socialist core values, can enrich the connotation of contemporary clean and honest culture, can create a unique cultural brand, and can fulfill the important role of practicing Zen culture in building a socialist harmonious society.
