Objective To investigate the motivation for donors to donate blood, and to compare the effect of blood dona- tion behaviors induced by cirole of influence and circle of concern on blood donors, in order to provide references for the re- cruitment and promotion of blood donation. Methods Self-designed questionnaires were used to collect data from 1 585 blood donors in Beijing. Results 86. 1% donors were aware of blood donation from their surrounding influences, and among which, 11.2% of them participated in blood donation due to peer influences. Friends constituted the biggest motivation for blood donation. The awareness of the blood donation behavior inspired by cirole of influenee can promote voluntary blood do- nation behavior. 51.4% of blood donors viewed that celebrities could impart a certain effect on blood donation advocacy, but had minimal impact on their donation behavior. Conclusion Circle of influence endows a greater impact on blood donors than circle of concern. It is important to make full use of circle of influence to improve the effect of reeruitment and promo- tion, in order to expand the blood donation force.
