王云五先生图书馆学贡献述评

文章主要围绕王云五在图书馆学方面的贡献和影响进行全面分析、论述。王云五在图书馆学思想、图书馆经营管理、图书馆学教育等方面都颇有建树。其图书馆学贡献主要体现在三个方面:明确我国现代图书馆的宗旨和功能化藏为用,建立现代图书馆科学管理方法,贯通中西的新目录学探索。王云五创制的中外图书馆分类法、四角号码检字法为图书馆的公开阅览提供了基础,也在中国近代文化中发挥了重要作用,王云五在图书馆事业上所作出的努力体现了他对民族的强烈责任,这将成为他留给后人的珍贵历史遗产。

In the article, the significant contributions to Chinese library science and library cause of Mr. Wang Yunwu are generally analyzed and reviewed. He made contributions on the ideas of library Science,building and management of library, library education. What his main contribution on library science are shown on three aspects： firstly, clearly illustrating the aim and function of modem library,to transfer collection to utilization.sencondly, setting up scientific method to manage library.thirdly, exploring the coordinating ways between western and Chinese traditional knowledge. What he creates unitary classification for Chinese and foreign book and the four-angle number indexing system for Chinese characters became bases of reading for open shelf in Dong Fang library ,which also played an important role in Chinese modem culture. Mr. Wang Yunwu＇s efforts on library cause manifested his great social responsibility to nation. And will be remembered by the followers.
