“SWOT”Analysis and Strategies Choice of High Level Industry-based Universities

在新时期高等教育进一步提高质量、深化改革、加强内涵式发展的背景下,高水平行业特色大学发展的战略设计尤为重要。按照发展战略结构的逻辑顺序,借用SWOT分析框架总结这类院校在整个高等教育大环境中的优势、劣势、机遇和挑战;应用大学分类体系的理论成果分析这类院校的特色定位;分别从学科、教学、科研、师资、社会服务等方面总体评述此类大学应采取的相关策略。

As more emphases are laid on the improvement of higher education quality, a deeper comprehensive educational reform and a better connotative development, it has become more important that what strategies will be adopted by those high level industrybased universities to facilitate their own development. Hence, this essay is arranged in three parts according to a relevant developing strategy. First, it summarizes the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of those universities with a ＂SWOT＂ method. Second, it analyzes the reality of those universities together with the theoretical system of classification of all universities, in hope of positioning the industry-based ones. Last but not least, it comments on the strategies in five aspects, namely, discipline construetion, personnel training, scientific research, the construction of the faculty and social services.
