美国西部地区加利福尼亚州的高等教育在美国50个州中是最优秀的州之一,其独具特色的高等教育体系闻名于世。文章通过对美国西部地区加利福尼亚州高等教育系统中各个层次中的典型高校办学定位发展情况的分析,总结其办学定位的成功经验,以期对我国西部地区地方高校的科学定位与可持续发展提供有益的启示。

Higher education in California, the western region of the United States, is one of the best among50 states in America, which is known for its unique system of higher education. This paper briefly analyzes the orientation of typical universities at all levels in Californian higher education system, summarizes the successful experience of their reasonable orientation, and hopefully provides beneficial enlightenment on scientific and reasonable orientation and sustainable development for the local universities in the western region of China.
