摘要英国"国民作家"伊恩·麦克尤恩的小说《在切瑟尔海滩上》讲述了爱德华和弗洛伦斯因新婚初夜性事不和谐而结束婚姻的悲剧故事。从两人的交往历程不难发现弗洛伦斯具有亲密恐惧症(fear of intimacy)的突出特性,具体表现在三个维度:与家人的关系、与恋人的关系以及与朋友的关系。通过分析,弗洛伦斯的亲密恐惧症缘于自身的童年经历、家庭环境以及所处时代的影响。
