During the late Qing dynasty and the early years of Republic of China , Haggard’ s novels were translated and intro-duced into China .Lin Shu made his translation of Haggard’ s novels based on the Chinese traditional culture in the way of Chinal-ization, which takes on the peculiarity of the nativization in moral virtue, religious beliefs and aesthetic connotations, succeeding in adapting to the modern Chinese cultural context.The Chinese nativization of cultural spirit of Haggard’ s novels has significant spir-itual values in enlightening and educating the nationality, satiating the mass aesthetic appeal and promoting the canonization of Hag-gard’ s novels in modern China.
