马华公会作为马来西亚最大的华人政党,且为执政党之一,在抗争政府不合理政策,争取华人权益方面发挥了一定作用。但随着马来西亚"一党独大"政治格局的形成,马华在国阵联盟中的地位日益边缘化,其在争取华人权益上态度趋于中庸,令华社不满。自马华成立以来,其在争取华教权益上的表现是抗争与妥协并存,这种态度受到当时的政治环境、领导层的变化以及政党特性的多层影响。

The MCA as the largest Chinese political party of Malaysia and one of the ruling party has been playing a certain role for the Chinese interests and being against government unreasonable policy. But with the formation of Malaysia one-party rule, MCA＇ s status in the BN coalition has been increasingly marginalized and it＇ s attitude has been tend to moderation in the fighting for Chinese rights. Since the founding of MCA, which performance of fighting for rights and interests of Malaysian Overseas Chinese education is resistance and compromise. The MCA＇ s attitude has been influenced by the political environment and the change of leadership and party character.
