The Literature Review on the Cultural Identity of Amy Tan

在多元文化大背景下,文章以华裔美国畅销作家谭恩美为研究对象,综观近30年学界对谭氏本身及其作品有关文化身份这一主题的研究进行梳理,主要从谭恩美成长的特殊性和对其作品的文化身份研究成果两方面考察。结合当代文化思潮,辨析研究成果的利弊与不足之处,提出从中国民间故事与民间信仰角度,研究谭恩美中国题材的作品尚有很大空间。

In the multicultural era, this thesis takes Amy Tan, a popular Chinese American writer, as the research object to straighten out research concerned with the cultural identity of Amy Tan herself and her works. Mainly, it is observed from two aspects： Amy Tan＇s special life experiences and the analysis of the cultural identity of her novels. Combined with contemporary trend of cultural thought, this paper is dedicated to analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of those research results, and a finding is that cultural identity can be further studied from the perspective of Chinese folk culture, that is Chinese folk stories and Chinese folk beliefs.
