As a kind of Chinese traditional natural medicine,venenum bufonis contains complex chemical composition and has these pharmacological effects：antitumor,cardiotonic,anesthetic,analgesic,anti-inflammatory and so on,thus it is widely used in diseases in clinic. The author summaries its chemical composition,pharmacological effects and mechanisms,effective extraction process and dosage form and expects to provide references for the further research.
