民族主义思潮下的刘廷芳本色基督徒观

华人基督徒身份认同问题一直是困扰近代中国教会的疑难问题。刘廷芳以自身经历对上述问题进行探讨,揭示在民族主义思潮下基督徒的责任与义务。刘廷芳认为,作为基督徒个体,他们应"自修以止谤",承担教会责任,做有信仰的国民;作为社会群体的成员,基督徒应发挥国民性,积极参加"五卅"时期的反帝爱国运动,做爱国的国民。同时,基督徒也应享受基督教教育的权利。刘廷芳对本色基督徒的认识,表明他们每个人既是基督徒,也是国民的一分子。其认识既是中国教会为自身发展而主动适应社会环境的结果,又是在建立本色教会过程中身份认同逐渐清晰的体现。

The identities of Christians have long been a contentious issue in the Modern Era. Timothy Tingfang Lew probed the above issue from own experience,revealed the christian responsibilities and obligations under the nationalism ideology.Timothy Tingfang Lew believed that christian should Cultivate himself and undertake responsibilities for the church,then became faithful countrymen. At the sametime, the christian should take part in anti-imperialist movement,and act as patriotic countrymen. Moreover,He deemed that christian had the rights of religious' education.These of indigenous christian perspective by Timothy Tingfang Lew indicated that the christians should not only christian but also countrymen. His perspective is the result of chinese churches adapting themselves to the social environment for their own development as well as an exhibition of identify clarification in the construction of genuine churches.
