To enhance coordinated development in the region, narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and accelerate their integration, the West Coast New Area of Oingdao has decided to build distinctive towns in the Area to promote new-type urbanization. Based on the success of two pilot towns of Zhangjialou and Haiqing, the New Area builds another ten distinctive towns in the west.
