The History and Present Situation of Returned Overseas Chinese in Southwest Frontier Areas

历史上广西和云南有不少人移居到邻近的越南、老挝等东南亚邻国。1949年以后,东南亚国家发生了三次比较大规模的"排华"事件,共有数十万华侨被迫回到中国,其中有20多万归侨被安置在广西、云南。目前,广西、云南共有近200万归侨侨眷,他们主要集中居住在58个安置归侨的农林场,少部分散居在农村。

In the history of Guangxi and Yunnan province, many people moved to neighboring Vietnam, Laos, southeast Asia neighbors. After 1949, the Southeast Asia countries occurred three times of large ＂ Chinese exclusion＂ events, there were hundreds of thousands of overseas Chinese forced to go back to China, including more than 20 returned overseas Chinese who were placed in Guangxi province and Yunnan province. At present, in Guangxi province, Yunnan province , there are nearly 2 million overseas Chinese returned overseas Chinese, they are mainly concentration living in 58 resettlement of returned overseas Chinese forestry field, a few scattered in the rural areas.
