Analysis of the males' losing voice phenomena in American Chinese novels

华裔美国小说中男性失语现象是他们在美国痛苦生活的真实写照,美国白人文化和白人主流社会的压抑、美国白人对华人的歧视政策、中国封建社会父权制思想的影响、女性主体意识建构的呼声等都是华裔男性失语的重要原因。华裔男性要恢复其主体地位,必须增强华裔族群的凝聚力,同时要警惕美国主流文化的同化。

The phenomenon of males＇ losing voice in American Chinese novels is the real picture of their bitter life in society. Owing to the oppression of American white culture and white-centered mainstream society,as well as the prejudice policy of American white people against Chinese people,and under the shadow of patriarchal ideas in Chinese feudal society,the males gradually lost their voice. Besides,females＇ awareness to construct their subject consciousness aggravated males＇ predicament. In order to regain Chinese male descendants＇ subject status in America,they have to enhance cohesion among Chinese ethnic groups. At the same time,they must be vigilant against the assimilation of American mainstream culture.
