Regional Characteristics of Tibetan Traditional Festivals

传统节日作为一个文化符号,凝结着一个民族的民族精神和民族情感。藏族的传统节日丰富多彩,每一个节日几乎都蕴含着耐人寻味的故事。五省的藏族聚居区,除了共同的宗教节日外,不同的地域各有其极具地方特色的民俗节日,就是同一个宗教节日,也因为地域的不同和所使用的历法不同,而形成了时间差。不同地域所特有的民俗节日背后,又有形成其节日的历史事件、历史人物、独特习俗等文化内涵。

As a cultural symbol, traditional festival is an important link to integrate and unify different cultures. It expresses national spirit and feelings, carries on national cultural blood and ideological essence and symbolizes national identity. Tibetans have diverse festivals and each of them has a particular story. In Tibetan-inhibited areas of five provinces, besides common religious festivals, there are distinctive local folk festivals in different areas. Even the same religious festival can be different because of different calendars used in different places. Unique folk festivals in different areas are formed by historical event, historical figures and unique customs.
