英文报刊在高职英语口语课堂中的应用

Employment of English Newspaper in Vocational English Classes

2000年国家教育部高教司颁布了《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》,对我国各类高等职业院校的公共英语教学做出明确的规定。其中"实用为主,够用为度"是重要的教学方针。而"实用为主"主要体现在口语交际能力上,口语教学的重要性不言而喻。然而,直至今日,这一方针并没有得到有效的贯彻与实施。高职学生的英语口语水平普遍偏低,不能做到学以致用。鉴于此,笔者从报刊教学改革的背景,报刊英语的特点及《21世纪报》简介,高职口语教学现状及利用英文报刊提高口语水平的策略三方面进行探究,提出以报刊为依托,提高高职学生口语水平的可行性方案。

In the year 2000,Education Ministry issued Guidelines for Vocational College English Class Teaching, which set clear regula-tions on occupational English teaching. Practicality and adequacy are the main consideration. According to this principle, oral English is attached a lot of importance. However, up to now, this principle hasn＇t been exerted fully and effectively. Students of the vocational school generally have low oral English level, and they can hardly put what they learn into use. Regarding this, the research will be implemented in three aspects：the background of newspaper teaching reform,the characteristics of newspaper English and a brief introduction to 21st century newspaper, oral English teaching reality and the strategies on improving oral English via reading newspapers. Based on English newspaper, a practical solution will be put forward to enhance students＇ oral English.
