清华大学图书馆收藏831篇民国毕业论文,写作年代从1925年至1949年,涉及文、理、法、工和师范等5个学院20个院系,其作者和指导教授不乏知名学者。通过对照校史档案整理论文,以详实的数据揭示了这批论文的年代、学科分布情况,以及外观方面的时代特点。在选题和写作方式上,这批论文呈现出关注国计民生、紧跟学术前沿、强调实证研究、注重外语能力、多见名师批语等特点,与其他特色馆藏形成互补。这批论文以其独特的文献价值逐步得到研究者的关注。

Tsinghua University Library collects 831 dissertations of the period of the Republic of China, written between 1925 and 1949. With many distinguished scholars as the writers or mentors, these disser- tations come from 20 departments of colleges of liberal arts, science, law, engineering and education. By retracing the basic information according to the archives in Tsinghua history, the temporal and subject dis- tribution and also the characteristics of the dissertations are revealed based on statistical data analysis. In terms of topics and writing styles, these dissertations show great concerns in national interest and people＇s livelihood and follow the academic frontier. Also they emphasize empirical research and show high profi- ciency in foreign language with frequent remarks by famous scholars, thus to offer a complementary inte- gration with other special collections. With the unique literature value, these collections are gaining in- creasing attention from scholars.
