汝城宗祠建筑中的木雕、石雕、彩画、漆画等传统装饰工艺的运用,使宗祠建筑在实用功能的基础上,增添了其艺术审美的功能。而精巧细致、生动活泼的木雕装饰工艺则是汝城宗祠建筑运用最为广泛也是最为重要的装饰,那林立森严的斗拱、似月非月的鸿门梁、空灵剔透的扇门窗等建筑构件上的木雕作品则是最好的诠释。
