人在京师 不忘荆楚——试论明世宗的故乡意识和思乡情结

Analysis on Hometown Sense and Nostalgia Complex of Emperor Ming Shizong

对故乡的重视和怀念是中国人相承不息的心理特征。明世宗朱厚熜出生于湖广安陆州,十五岁进京继承了皇位。世宗在位时间长达四十五年,其成为皇帝之后的很多言行都体现了他对故乡的重视,虽然部分涉及故乡的言行也有彰显皇帝威严、巩固自身地位的考量,但依然可以从其升格安陆州、扩建明显陵、敕修兴都志、南巡承天府、恩泽故乡百姓、晚年欲南巡承天等行为中感受到他对故乡的真挚情感,特别是其晚年欲南巡故乡的念头,进一步体现了世宗对故乡的思念和落叶归根的心情。

Attachment to hometown is an inherent mentality of the Chinese. Born and brought up in Anlu city, Mingshizong(Zhu Houcong)went to Peking and inherited the imperial throne of Ming Dynasty at the age of fifteen. During his forty-five-years' reign,Mingshizong demonstrated great attachment to his hometown through his efforts to promote his hometown, such as the extension of Xian Mausoleum, the compilation of hometown' record, the southern inspection of Chengtian City, the help to fellow-townsman and so on. Even if some of the efforts may be attempted to embody his stateliness and position, we are still touched by his sincere nostalgia, especially when he expressed his desire of returning to hometown in his old age.
