土主与社神关系述略

On the Relation between Tuzhu and Local Deities

利用文献资料、田野调查资料和彝族语言资料,讨论土主与社神的关系。从民众祭祀土主、社神的目的,土主与社神都以树为神灵依托,土主和社神都有祭祀有功者等方面,分析土主与社神的共同特点,证明并丰富土主崇拜是社神崇拜的观点。

This paper presents a discussion on the relation between tuzhu and the local deities based on records, survey and materials of the Yi language to contend that tuzhu worship is a form of deity worship by analyzing 1 ） the similarities between tuzhu and the local deities from the purposes of sacrifices of the people to both tuzhu and the local deities ; 2） the fact that both regard the tree as the home of their spirits ; and 3） both believe that who present sacrifices win credit.
